This was just the beginning of a big owie. It started out like this until he fell over and over on it until it wouldn't stop bleeding! We had to leave to go home and clean it up and get a bandaid. He FREAKED out-it didn't even phase him and he really wanted to stay. He's such a complete boy.

This past week.

I've been off this past week, and have enjoyed being home with my boys. B has been working on installing our floors all week and Peyton and I have been enjoying hanging out at home and relaxing. Here are some pictures from throughout the week...

My dad turned 69 years old on Thursday the 13th. He doesn't act or look his age, it blows my mind that he will be 70 next year. We had a bbq at my parents celebrating his birthday...

Second guessing...

Parenting. It's HARD. I find myself constantly evaluating myself. OMG people must think I am a horrible parent after just witnessing that meltdown he just performed. Am I exposing him to everything he needs in order to keep challenged and learning? Other kids his age are fully potty trained-what am I doing wrong? Are other toddlers as head-strong and stubborn as mine? I feel like I should be socializing him better. Being shy, I feel like I've failed to find more playmates for him. I am constantly observing other parents/kids and trying to measure up.

But, I was thinking today-I just need to do the best I can and be content and satisfied with that. What more can I do than try my best? I admit, I have my moments-I'm impatient sometimes. I let him watch movies more than I normally do/should at times just to have a minute to clean up. I bribe him with popsicles just so he will eat a bite or two of his veggies. There are a lot of ways that I am SO imperfect. But I have Peyton's best interests at heart. I want the absolute best for him. So in the forefront of my mind from now on is to just do my best. :)

Wickiup 2009...

Last week we went on our annual trip to Wickiup in Central Oregon. It's my favorite place. My family has gone there pretty much every year since I was a baby. Camping, dirt, swimming, wakeboarding, boating, sunbathing, smores, snipes, deer runs, snacks, cards, laughing, rock skipping, sand, misquito bites, outhouses, tents, campers, bike-riding, naps, reading, lounging--is all we do all week. Needless to say it was just an odd year. B had to drive home and work for part of the week and having a toddler in the peak of the terrible 2's in a new environment was challenging to say the least. Luckily my sister-in-law Amy let us borrow her dad's camper for the week which was awesome, especially since we had rain, thunder, lightening, and all around colder temperatures than usual. We left a few days early. However, I am looking forward to another awesome year camping at Wickiup. Here's just a few of my pictures-I just got my new camera in a couple days before we left. I'm still learning how to use it... :) I'll post more pictures for those of you on facebook!
