A fun morning

This morning I loaded Peyton up in his stroller and walked to Blue Lake Park. It's about a 2-mile walk there from our house. We spent lots of time just walking around and Peyton loved trying out all the different play structures. We waited for the water park to turn on-which was supposed to be 11am, but a worker told us it wouldn't be turned on until 1130am today. So, I decided to head back home for lunch. Next time I'll be packing us a lunch so we can try out the water park! I always forget how close Blue Lake is and we've never fully explored it, so we'll be making some more trips there hopefully this summer. It was a nice walk for me and Peyton had fun too.

Sean and Delores' Wedding

My nephew Sean got married this weekend. The wedding was in Mossyrock, WA and it was beautiful-as were the bride and groom! The reception was at Mayfield camping resort-the food was to. die. for. Homemade mexican food made by Delores' family. Here's some pictures...

Birdies

So a couple sparrows have made a nest on the top of our front porch light. They are making a mess though, and once they abandon the nest we'll be moving the nest. It was fun watching them build the nest and seeing them so close up, however there was a mishap the other day. I had the front screen door halfway down to air out the house while I was painting. I was busy painting and all of the suddent heard a loud 'bang!' over and over-one of the birds had flown into the house! Tootsie was freaking out chasing it all over the house (and I was freaking out too, not knowing what to do and not liking it swooping around me trying to find its way out!) I finally got a hold of Tootsie, put her in her kennel and ran to the garage to get some gloves and try and catch this bird before it killed itself. It was freaking me out though because I wouldnt know where it was and I'd slowly creep into another room looking for it, and it would flap around my head! Creepy!!!! It continued to run into the dining room/kitchen windows (where I was painting-and pooped on a freshly painted window sill! LOVELY.) It ended up getting a wing stuck in some of the painter's tape and I was able to gently pick it up and let it outside-where it flew away. What a fiasco that was!

4th of July

This 4th of July was another mellow one for us. We were going to walk to Blue Lake and brave that huge crowd, but decided to just hang out at home. We bbq'd, spent most of the day outside, and did a few fireworks of our own (lame Oregon fireworks, but Peyton appreciated them!). Our neighbors lit a few off too, so we sat back and enjoyed their show as well. We could see some of the Blue Lake fireworks later in the night which was cool too! As Peyton said all day, "Happy 4th of Ju-yai!"

This past week.

We have really enjoyed this awesome weather this week! Peyton would be outside all day if I let him. He loves to squirt the hose and water my "pants." Yesterday he washed all his vehicles and the Tahoe.

Today I finally went and bought a new pool for him. We both enjoyed lounging in the sun and wading in the pool.

I finally busted out the water colors he got in his Easter basket. It wasn't as messy as I thought it was until he spilled the water cup. :) He enjoyed it though...

Good job

Peyton has really turned into a chatterbox in the last few weeks. He's putting words together into sentences and saying words that he never has before. Lately, his favorite little phrase has been "Good job Peyton" or "Good job Mama." He would never ever say his name before, then all of the sudden he says it perfectly. It's so crazy how fast he grows. Just today I watched some home video from this past Christmas, and he seems so little just 6 months ago! It blows my mind. I'm trying to savor everyday with him, because before I know it he will be starting pre-school. Here's a video of him jumping and telling himself good job.
