Christmas tree shoppin'

Today we went to get our Christmas tree. A few years ago, we found Allen's Tree Farm in Oregon City that we like and have gone there ever since. They have a huge farm and there's a small barn with cows and horses. Peyton was a muddy, manure-y mess, but he had a blast. This year we decided to get a noble, which we've never gotten before. I had to work swing today so it's up in our living room undecorated. Peyton and I will tackle that in the morning. Pictures of the finished product to follow! :)

Sorry Peyt, you got cut out of this one:

Thanksgiving pics

This Thanksgiving we ate dinner at my parent's house and had dessert at B's parent's house. Peyton enjoyed the food a lot more this year and ate well! He dipped his turkey in ketchup of course (he calls his dip (ketchup) "bip") along with the marshmallows from the sweet potatoes--he'll eat anything with ketchup on it. His tummy was full for sure...

Thanksgiving Art

Today while waiting for Daddy to get off work, Peyton made Thanksgiving pictures for both sets of Grandparents, and his Great Grandma Springer. Here's a couple of them, it was a challenge to get him to set his hand on the paper long enough but it worked out!

Potty-time!

A few months ago, I ventured out and bought Peyton a potty chair. I set it up in his bathroom for him to become familiar with. He sat on it, stood on it, took it apart, played in it, etc. A couple of weeks ago, he woke up from a 2-hour nap, I went to change his diaper which was completely dry. So I hurried him to the potty chair, sat him down, and gave him some reading material (Don't males like to do that?). He sat there for about 10 minutes--nothing. I went back to his room to get a diaper and I hear music coming from the bathroom. (His potty chair has a sensor and plays music when he potties). I run to the bathroom and he's still sitting there reading his book, oblivious as to what he just did. With my surprised/shocked look on my face, he looked up at me and said "No, no, no!!," thinking he did something wrong. I was so excited!!! Jumping up and down, clapping my hands, tell him good job! He smiles, claps, and says "Yay, good job!!." I was so excited, despite the fact that I knew that he really had no clue as to what he really had done. Since then, he has gone some more "number ones," and is definitely knowing what he's doing. He gets to flush the toilet after we empty his potty chair, which is fun for him. I've heard that boys are more difficult to train than girls, so I'm taking it slow and not pushing him. I'm so proud of my boy, and happy that he is making steps forward to potty like a big boy! Amazing...

An amazing time in my life...

In 1998-2002, I played basketball at George Fox University. It was a very rewarding and defining time in my life. I had never worked as hard as I did then. I learned how far I could push my body physically. I thought I would surely die if we ran another Killer or Suicide. But I always made it through, and it was worth being in the best shape of my life. I miss those days...the gruling practices, big games, NCAA Sweet Sixteen, traveling the U.S., the blood, sweat, and the tears (Yes, very cliche I know). Coming into GFU as an 18-year-old, I had no idea what I was getting into. Little did I know the life lessons, life-long friendships, the victory, and the upset I would face in the next 4 years. I have so many memories from my basketball career at GFU that I will never forget. I wouldn't even know where to begin to explain it. It all comes flooding back in November when we have our annual alumni game. Yesterday was that day, and being in that home gym again is awesome. I was very tired and could hardly breath however, I'm just happy that I can still keep up with those 18-21 year olds still!!! Here's a few pictures:
