Dog Model?

My dogs love to bask in the sun at the back sliding glass door. Yesterday I took a few pictures of them, and it was almost like Tootsie was posing for me. She's such a sweet dog the rare times she chooses to be. Pancho would rather not be in the lime-light. :D

Memorial Day

I had to work Saturday/Sunday of Memorial Day weekend so we didn't get do much together. I did have Memorial Day off, and Peyton and I got a ton of stuff done around the house. After I finished inside chores, Peyton and I went outside and washed my car. He had a blast rinsing of the car for me, watering my plants, and filling up his wheel barrow with water to play in. After that we had a picnic in the front yard. He thought that was pretty cool. After his nap, and after B came home from work, we headed to my parent's house for a BBQ. I forgot my camera so no pics from there. Even though I had to work most of the weekend, we took advantage of the one day I had off and had a great holiday!

Grand-puppies....

Well kinda...When B and I were engaged we were killing time in a pet store at Lloyd Center waiting for our movie to start and ended up going home with a puppy instead. We named her Roxy. She was so tiny and we thought she would stay under the 25 lb weight requirement of my apartment. WRONG. She grew up to be a pretty big dog. So we had to give her away--luckily B's parents agreed to adopt her. She was labeled as a Sharpei mix..but looks more like a small lab maybe mixed with a terrier of some sort? She's a beautiful dog.

She is the best dog...and I'm so thankful we are able to see her all the time.

And soooo....B's brother has a pit bull named Bruizer...a big ball of love.

...and apparently him and Roxy had a little alone time. A few weeks ago we suspected she MAY be pregnant and on Tuesday she had two puppies! A boy and a girl. Roxy is such a good mama and her pups are adorable.

They are much tinier than they seem in these pictures. Roxy is such a good mama-very nurturing. It amazes me how dogs just know what to do when they have puppies. She is so protective of them -she will not let Bruizer near them, but she let's everyone (even Peyton!) hold them and pet them. Adorable...

Happy Birthday B!

Happy Birthday B! We love you!

My Mama

My mom has just been diagnosed with yet another cancer. For those who don't know, here's a brief history:
My mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer when I was a senior in high school in 1998. They caught that fairly early on her annual mammogram, she had a lumpectomy, lymphadenectomy, chemo, and radiation. The second cancer in 2005, was found on her annual exam-uterine cancer. She underwent a hysterectomy and chemo. This round of chemo was very rough on her body-so rough, they cancelled the last dose of chemo. After that cancer, she had follow-ups every six months, which I am so thankful for, because they again found this cancer very early. (This proves how routine annual exams are so important!)

All three cancers are apparently unrelated. This time the cancer is on her vaginal wall. The tumor is about the size of a marble and has not spread anywhere else, thank God. She is scheduled for surgery-ROBOTIC SURGERY-on Wednesday the 20th.

Robotic surgery is the use of robots in performing surgery. Three major advances aided by surgical robots have been remote surgery, minimally invasive surgery and unmanned surgery. Major advantages of robotic surgery are precision, miniaturization, smaller incisions, decreased blood loss, less pain, and quicker healing time. Further advantages are articulation beyond normal manipulation and three-dimensional magnification. (Courtesy of Wikipedia).

My mom, being the jokester she is, asked her oncologist "Um, I'd like to meet this 'robot.' " Hilarious. She is really upbeat and ready to face this and get it over with. I am so amazed by my mama. She is so strong and I know she will beat this cancer too. Her doctor is one of the best, and I am confident that he and his little robot will do awesome. :)

Please keep her in your prayers, for a smooth surgery, speedy recovery, and hopefully NO NEED FOR CHEMO! Ohh that poison is so bittersweet.

I hate cancer.

And I love my mama.

Mother's day/recent pics

For Mother's day Peyton and I went to church and then spent the afternoon at my parent's house with my family. B was sick with the flu all weekend and stayed home. He felt a little better last night and took his mom out to dinner last night for mother's day. B and Peyton got me a beautiful hydrangea that I cannot wait to plant in the front yard. Here's some pictures from Mother's day and also some recent pictures from the past couple of weeks...
