Prayers

Every night and also before naps Peyton has to say his prayers. If we forget, he makes sure to let us know. We first say what we're thankful for (Mommy, Daddy, Tootsie, Pancho, our family/friends, our vacuum, Bruiser, food, our house, protection, safety, etc) and anything else going on that we need to ask Jesus' help on. Then he says his "Now I lay me down to sleep" prayer. I tried to video him, but he wasn't having it so I set my phone's video camera on his nightstand while he said his prayer. It's the same prayer my parents said to me before I went to sleep at night.

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen.

Father, Son, Holy Spirit, AMEN!

A fun Wednesday off.

I had last Wednesday off and we started off in the morning meeting Amy, Kate, Hunter, and Ethan at the Happy Valley Park.  The boys had fun-it had been what seemed like forever since we saw them.

                                            Ethan and Peyt

Amy teeter tottered with Peyton :)

Ethan and Peyton went down this slide about a million times, they loved it.

Then, after the park we headed to TCBY for 99 cent waffle cones.

After a much needed nap and dinner we decided to take Peyton to see Toy Story 3.  This was his first movie in the theater and he loved it.

Mouth full of gummy savers...

Sorry for the freaky yellow eye, these were pics from my Blackberry.  :)  He was a little scared of the monkey in the movie, but other than that he did great!

I've been kind of MIA from the blog lately.  My mom went into the hospital Saturday the 12th and just now today came home, so in between work/sleep I spent a lot of time up at the hospital or at home worrying/praying.  I did manage to get Peyton to the park a few times to get him out of the house, but never even thought of taking a camera.  This weather has been so horrible and by this time last year, we were doing tons of fun outdoor activities.  I'm ready for it to be summer and not spring/fall-like. I did take these two pics today when we stopped by Laurelhurst Park after we got done at the gym. And I'm hoping the weather improves so we can start doing fun summer things!

I think he's recently gone through a growth spurt.  He seems so big to me lately.

49 years

Happy 49th Anniversary to my mom and dad!  That number just blows my mind...

This is a picture when they were dating, my mom was 17 and dad was 19.

Just like Daddy

Peyton was in need of a haircut and he decided to let Daddy cut his hair.  We usually take him to a barber (Gary) but decided to try it at home.  It turned out a tad bit short and he told us to "put it back on!!!!" but now he thinks it's pretty awesome to have a haircut just like Daddy's.  He looks so different and it's crazy how much he looks like Brandon.

Is he just a mini-Brandon or what?!

Pretend

Peyton has really started to occupy himself with pretend play.  (And with this RAIN that will not go away, he has plenty of indoor time to play).  This is so fun to watch and we can see him changing into a young boy from a toddler before our eyes.  Here's some of Peyton's escapades from this past week...  :)

Here he is hitching up a tractor to his trike.

He made some blue marshmallows out of playdoh, put them in B's lunch bag, and went outside to sit around the campfire (that he reminded us over and over was very HOT) to roast them.

He's been wearing his backpack everywhere and going to school.  He "drove" his trike into the kitchen and went into his classroom which was in the cupboard.

Then he left school to go to Grammy's house..
