Busy morning

This rainy, cloudy weather is getting old!  But, I was thankful that it was at least dry today.  In between loads of laundry, Peyton and I stayed pretty busy.  We walked to the park and played for a bit....

There's been construction of a HUGE house going on at Blue Lake for at least the last year, so we always have to stop and see the loaders/excavators.  He loves it.

Then, we walked back home and he rode his bike/played for a bit while I weeded and pulled out a rhododendron that has failed to thrive...or maybe I just killed it?

We came in, had a snack and then headed to the library.  Peyton has really liked his Clifford the Big Red Dog book at home, so we found a few more for him to bring home and look at.  This trip to the library was MUCH better.  He was really good and sat quietly looking at his books while I browsed some books for myself.  I can only re-read the Twilight series so much.  :)

I am so ready for summer to start.  I have a feeling with all this wet/cold weather, that maybe we'll have a hot summer?  I'm hoping so!

On a side note...I ask for lots of prayers for my mom.  She finally got some more strength to be cleared to start chemo again.  This is a very strong chemo and she is still very weak.  The doctor said it's only about a 45% chance that this chemo will do more good than harm.  She has endured SO much in the last 10+ years, fighting this 4 different times.  She is unbelievably strong and I know God will help her pull through once again!  God is so good and He has worked wonders so far.
Thank you!

Anything for a tennis ball

Peyton's latest masterpiece.

He said this was him driving a backhoe.  :)

Card night

Last night we went over to my parent's house to play some cards.  B and I made a come back after losing it all and cleaned some house!  :)  It was a fun night, minus Peyton swallowing a penny (we think).  So far so good, but trying to find that penny today has not been a fun task.  (insert green face here).

Austin wore his Dash costume.

My mom and Grandma warming up with a couple hands.

The kids watched Star Wars.

Star Wars didn't hold Peyton's attention for long, so he watched "UP" for a while, which also didn't hold his attention for very long.  He was more into eating coins apparently. :)

The beach for B's last weekend being 29!

I attempted to surprise B with a beach trip for his birthday, which is tomorrow, but he always figures everything out and it wasn't a surprise. We headed down Friday night to meet B's parents and Peyton in Lincoln City. We had a nice, long kid-free drive down. Long, meaning lots of traffic and a 14-mile detour because of an accident. But it was nice to have the ride to ourselves. We stayed at Olivia Beach, and was impressed once again. This time we stayed in the 'Sandy Dandy' house. Again, it was another cute, beachy, and cozy house.

Friday night, we had a late dinner of pizza, salad and margaritas. We put a very overly-exhausted 3-year-old down for the night and just hung out and watched the food network. :)

Saturday morning, B's parents made a special breakfast for B, his favorite: eggs benedict. After breakfast, coffee, and showers we headed down to the beach. The weather was perfect once again, we didn't have a drop of rain all weekend. After playing on the beach and flying a kite with Peyton, we decided to drive into Newport. We stopped and saw the sea lions, which was entertaining, and then headed to the Newport Aquarium, which was really fun. Then we went to the Rogue Brewery for a late lunch/early dinner. After we ate, we drove back to the beach house and relaxed for the rest of the night. Peyton and Grammy walked to the park while B and Papa watched some TV and I read my book (Eclipse, AGAIN! :) Nerd-of-the-year award goes to me). After Peyton went to bed, we made a late night snack of a nachos and had some leftover pizza, drank some fun drinks, and relaxed with some good conversation.

We checked out today, stopped for some brunch and headed home. It was a short and sweet getaway to the beach to celebrate B's 30th coming up. We'll celebrate some more tomorrow.  Happy Birthday B!

I took a ton of pictures:

Some photos of the house itself...

We found a puzzle in one of the closets with Olivia the Pig that Peyton put together a bunch over the weekend.

Bruin reunion

Today Peyton and I headed out to Newberg for a morning playdate at Tab's house.  She had a few of us over with all our kids for a GFU bruin b-ball reunion!  I am SO disappointed, because when I got there I realized my camera battery was almost dead so I only got a couple pictures.  Here's the roster we had today: Tab and her two boys Ray (4) and Luke (2.5), Wendy and her little guy Jace (8 months), Katie and Eva (almost 1), Melissa, her twins Adie/Eliza (2), and Ashlynn (2 months), Jill and Zoie (4 months).  Peyton and Ray got along really well and had fun playing downstairs in his room.
We had a great time catching up and having mama talk.  It's so weird to think of where we all were about 10 years ago-going to college and playing basketball together-and where we all are now in our lives-being wives and mommies.  How life has changed for all of us! :)  We're going to start having more playdates together, which I'm looking forward to!
Here's the only 3 pictures I got... :(

Zoe bug

Oh and Peyton got to hold Zoie, a first for him.  He was very gentle and sat very still while holding her, he did a great job.  (Wendy send me that pic!!)  :)  Love ya girls!

Mother's Day

I had to work on Mother's Day which was a bummer, but my boys still made my weekend special.  Saturday morning they made me breakfast in bed and also brought me dinner at work.  Sunday, B worked so Peyt and I headed over to my mom's to visit her.  She had been in the hospital for the past couple of weeks but got to come home in time for Mother's Day.  She is still really weak and not feeling like her normal self, but everyday she gets a little more energy.  I love my mama!  She is so strong and is fighting this cancer yet again.  I couldn't ask for a better mom.

I woke up on Sunday to this HUGE, gorgeous pink hydrangea plant.  It's my favorite flower and I'm trying to decide where in my yard I want to plant it.

Happy Mother's Day!
