My Lent Sacrifice

My lent sacrifice this year is going to be TOUGH. For the people reading this that know me well, brace yourself-- PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SANDWICHES. I don't know how I'll do it, but I will try my best. It will be a long 40 days until Easter. (B, if you're reading this, please make sure the Easter bunny puts a nice juicy PBJ in my basket.) ;)

Birthday party pics

This past weekend we had two parties for Peyton. He had a blast at both and was having fun with all his fam. We've been detoxing from all the sugar for the past couple of days. :) Here's some pics..

Ethan liked his cake!!

**Do you see the chunk out of the bottom of the cake there? Yeah, my PSYCHO dog took a bite out of it.

2-year check up

Today I took Peyton in for his 2-year check-up. Needless-to-say it was a different experience for the both of us! He is in a current phase where he is very clingy and shy. He always did really well at the doctor in the past. Today was a different story! He had a death grip on me and would not even let Dr. Heffernan look at him. After some coaxing, and lots of crying, the Dr finally finished the exam. Then proceeded to walk out the door and Peyton all of the sudden stopped freaking out and said "Bu-bye!!" I think he was just excited it was over. Then came another cling-on episode when the nurse came in for his two vaccinations. When she was done and I started gather his clothes, etc he told her bu-bye and said to me "ES-GO!" We were out of there pretty quick. HA. Hopefully his 3-year-old appointment will go a bit smoother. :)

Height: 38.25 inches (off the charts percentile-wise)
Weight: 29 lbs (50th percentile)

I still cannot believe he is 2. I'll probably believe it when he's about to turn 3!

Birthday fun with Mommy and Daddy

Yesterday on Peyton's Birthday we took him to Build-a-Bear. He picked out a Puppy and named him Elvis. He sleeps with him now along with Bear. Then we went to Red Robin for some yummy food. They brought him a chocolate sundae and sang Happy Birthday to him as he sat there looking at them like they were crazy. It was a fun day with just the three of us. Then, when we got home Grammy/Papa Springer and Great Grandma Barb stopped by and gave him a gift and some mini cupcakes. We are celebrating with a couple of parties this weekend...pictures to come!

Figuring out which one to pick:

The puppy it was:
The stuffing part scared him a bit:
Giving Elvis a bath:

All set:
Welp, see ya later! Eating his sundae:
The crazy people singing to him:
He blew the two candles out no problem!
Yummo!

Happy 2nd Birthday Peyton

It really blows my mind that Peyton is 2 today. It feels like we just celebrated his 1st birthday. In looking back at old pictures of him, it really makes me miss him as a baby! He is our complete joy and the past two years have been some of the toughest, but truly the best, most rewarding times. I'm posting some pictures of when he was first born, his first birthday party, and a couple recent ones. It's amazing how he's grown.

Happy Birthday Peyton! We love you sooo much!

Pump It Up!

Today Kate, Ethan, Peyton, and I went out to Beaverton to this place called Pump It Up. It's an inflatable zone where toddlers can climb, slide, and play. Peyton and Ethan had a blast, as did Kate and I. (Why the heck didn't they have cool places like this when we were little?!) We will definitely be making another trip back with B next time.

The boys were having a serious converstation at the top of the slide:
