Family Dinner/Pictionary

Last night I had my family over for spaghetti dinner and cards. We ended up busting out Peyton's easel and played a huge game of Pictionary.  Oh my gosh it was so hilarious and fun! We played guys vs girls and they beat us twice....I'm not sure how because the girls clearly had more drawing talent. They rolled some lucky numbers.  We decided we are bringing the easel to Wickiup this year so we can play when we go camping.  I love my family...

Pancho got lots of attention

They didn't believe me when I said I could do the kids' sit and spin, so they made me prove it.

I think they just wanted a video to put on Facebook.

10 Year Anniversary/Beach Trip

May 3, 2003.  It seems like yesterday.

To celebrate 10 years, we left the kids home with B's parents and headed to Lincoln City.  We stayed at a tiny, cozy cottage at Olivia Beach.  It was perfect for 2 people.  The weather was so gorgeous!  It was actually hot on the beach.  We spent a lot of time relaxing, shopping, and of course eating.  It was so nice to DATE again!
Gorgeous sunset our last night there.

85 degrees and tan lines on the Oregon Coast....a rarity.

Our cute little cottage
I can't say enough about Olivia Beach.  The cottages are so clean and designed so beautifully...very beachy. This was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath.
There was a (steep) ladder that went up to a loft

My love
A very nice lady offered to take our picture for us, since we were taking pictures of just eachother.  It was so windy.  She took this picture and said "ooh gorgeous...that one was perfect."  Um, really?
Good effort.
We went out to eat a couple times, but for our anniversary night we picked up some steaks from the store and made a nice meal for just the two of us.  And we ate at like 730pm! It was nice to be on our own timeline and not working around bedtimes. :)

Playdate with my cookie!

Seriously.  Jill is my soul-mate.  She is the one that I can talk to about anything and everything, no matter how long it's been since we saw each other last.  She gives me the unconditional love that only a best friend can give.  She's like a sister to me and I love her!  Last week, I was off work and so I made sure to carve out a day to hang with my cookie.  It was a perfect sunny morning and we met up at a park in Wilsonville...the half way point for us.  Olivia and Zoie played together like they were BFFs.  They are finally at a perfect age to play together.  AND I finally got to hold sweet little Tripp! I am ashamed to say that this was our first meeting, but life is crazy and busy.  He is such a laid-back baby, and sooo cute!  We are making sure we never go this long again without meeting up again.  It was a perfect day and I savor my time with my Jill.  Love you Cook!

Charles Noble Conrad III....Tripp!  Isn't he a doll face!?

Olivia loves him too.

Screen free/Vacation

B and I were off all last week and man, were we lucky with the gorgeous weather! Last week was also "Screen Free Week."  Peyton's class pledged to be completely screen free (no TV, video games, phones, computers...anything with a screen!).  Having nice weather helped, but Peyton did a great job and he was very strict about it.  No DS, TV, movies, or iPhones for him and he didn't seem to miss it that much.  He had to keep a log in his school notebook of what activities he did throughout the week.  It was nice actually to have the TV off.  We spent a lot of time at parks, luckily he had a ton of t-ball practice/games, they spent a lot of time playing in the little pool at Grammy/Papa's and we read a ton of books.  He is doing so well reading, we are very proud of him!
And some big news for our little girl...Olivia is potty trained!  I wanted to dive into potty training while I was home for the week and it literally took a day!  She's been diaper-free for over a week now, no accidents, and only wearing one at night (she's dry at night too but I figure a diaper is easier to clean than changing sheets).  I'll probably have her wear diapers at night for a while now until I'm sure she can stay dry and we also need to convert her crib to the toddler bed.  After potty training a boy, this seemed so easy.  Girls are just so different!  We really had a great week off...more on our anniversary and beach trip in a different post!

Feeding the ducks

We finally got our garden boxes all set up in the back yard and I'm so excited!!!!!!

Can we just stop and take in Olivia's hair?  What a ragamuffin.

Practicing hitting....his team is now hitting with no tee in their games.

This girl is a little dare devil.  She's getting more brave on the play structures...making me a nervous wreck.

Olivia's first trim

Olivia's hair was looking a little scraggly so we had her split ends cleaned up. She was nervous about this hair cut, fearing the unknown but she did great! My good friend Melissa, who also tames my mane, cut her hair. She's super talented and just bought her shop, Strut Salon!
