The beach for B's last weekend being 29!

I attempted to surprise B with a beach trip for his birthday, which is tomorrow, but he always figures everything out and it wasn't a surprise. We headed down Friday night to meet B's parents and Peyton in Lincoln City. We had a nice, long kid-free drive down. Long, meaning lots of traffic and a 14-mile detour because of an accident. But it was nice to have the ride to ourselves. We stayed at Olivia Beach, and was impressed once again. This time we stayed in the 'Sandy Dandy' house. Again, it was another cute, beachy, and cozy house.

Friday night, we had a late dinner of pizza, salad and margaritas. We put a very overly-exhausted 3-year-old down for the night and just hung out and watched the food network. :)

Saturday morning, B's parents made a special breakfast for B, his favorite: eggs benedict. After breakfast, coffee, and showers we headed down to the beach. The weather was perfect once again, we didn't have a drop of rain all weekend. After playing on the beach and flying a kite with Peyton, we decided to drive into Newport. We stopped and saw the sea lions, which was entertaining, and then headed to the Newport Aquarium, which was really fun. Then we went to the Rogue Brewery for a late lunch/early dinner. After we ate, we drove back to the beach house and relaxed for the rest of the night. Peyton and Grammy walked to the park while B and Papa watched some TV and I read my book (Eclipse, AGAIN! :) Nerd-of-the-year award goes to me). After Peyton went to bed, we made a late night snack of a nachos and had some leftover pizza, drank some fun drinks, and relaxed with some good conversation.

We checked out today, stopped for some brunch and headed home. It was a short and sweet getaway to the beach to celebrate B's 30th coming up. We'll celebrate some more tomorrow.  Happy Birthday B!

I took a ton of pictures:

Some photos of the house itself...

We found a puzzle in one of the closets with Olivia the Pig that Peyton put together a bunch over the weekend.

We all took turns riding the bikes...
