Last night we took Peyton to Disney On Ice, or 'Disneyland on Ice' as Peyton calls it. My brother Randy, sis-in-law Amy, and Austin went with us. Aside from getting bored during the Disney princess parts, he really liked it!

Lovely
So I found Peyton's preschool on Facebook and I found the dreaded class pic from the pumpkin patch field trip. He refused to be in the pic unless I was in it too and then wouldn't even look at the camera! Yep, the only parent in the class picture. It's funny to me now, but I was more than frustrated this day. :)
His favorite teacher, Krystal, that moved away, is in the middle. He still tells me (and his other teachers) that he misses her. |
On a brighter note, he did so much better this week with school. Yesterday he didn't resist or cry at all! And when I went to pick him up he didn't want to leave. So I'm hoping he is okay with his new teacher and adjusting finally. Love that boy..

Swim lessons
This morning Peyton started his Pre-Penguin swim lessons at EPCC. With how Peyton's handled preschool, I was sort of nervous about this because I wouldn't be in the water with him (Woohoo!!), but this kid loves the water! He had a blast. His buddy Ethan is also in the class. They both did really well.
Anxious to get in the pool! |

First Field Trip
Today Peyton's preschool class went to Cereghino's Farms for a field trip. They learned all about pumpkins, then got to explore the patch and pick out a pumpkin.
Preschool update...
Peyton has had a really hard time so far with school. Dropping him off is a huge ordeal. Tears, clinging to me, panic crying...once I'm able to leave though, he does fine, and has a lot of fun. He started to finally not cry a few weeks ago when I dropped him off. He attached himself and became comfortable with Teacher Krystal..apparently really attached. She is tall and has dark hair like me, so the teachers think that's why he's so comfortable with her. Well a couple weeks ago, we found out Teacher Krystal is moving back to California. When she told him, he was really sad, and the tears are flowing even more when I drop him off. Today was her last day. When we left the pumpkin patch he gave her a big hug and then said to me "I loved her." Sad. So we're pretty much starting over and I'm hoping and praying that he will adjust and not have such a hard time. He still has his Teacher Shanise and now a new teacher-Teacher Amanda. I'm hoping for some progress soon!

Lee's
Yesterday we decided to take advantage of the dry, sunny weather and head out as a family to Lee's Farms in Tualatin. Wow, it was very busy! With the crowds, no nap for Peyton and a cold brewing with him it was hectic to say the least. We did some of the activites, but not all and got a few pumpkins. It is a great farm and Peyton and I are heading back out there in a couple weeks on a weekday with Kate and Ethan, so hopefully it won't be as busy and Peyton will be in better spirits.

23 Weeks
I had my 23 week appointment today which was quick again. Everything looks perfect per my doctor, although my weight gain was pretty upsetting! 8 lbs! Seriously?? Those cinnamon rolls I made were a BAD idea. :) The doctor was happy about the weight gain, and said "Finally! You're exactly where you should be right now weight-wise." Great, thanks doc.
BP: 90/58
Weight gain: 8 lbs (16 total).
Baby's heart rate: High 140's.
Next month I have to do the dreaded glucose test. Not looking forward to that tasty concoction. :) Overall I feel really good. No aches/pains or heartburn (knock on wood!). Baby is kicking like crazy, all day long. Aside from my indulgence in homemade cinnamon rolls, no cravings for me really. We're slowly but surely clearing out the baby's room so we can start painting.
23 weeks, 3 days. |

Close the door AND the windows!
Last night after I put Peyton down to bed, I let the dogs out the back to go potty. They darted out the door and were going NUTS barking. Leaves were falling out of our apple tree like there had been a big gust of wind, but there was zero wind. I turned the outside flood light off and I could see two little glowing eyes looking at me at the top of the tree. I first thought it was the owl that's constantly hoo-ing out there, but as my eyes adjusted I realized it was a raccoon! Not just one, but two of them! They had climbed the tree and were sitting there chomping on apples. I hurried and bribed the dogs with a treat to get them inside.
They didn't seem really scared of us, but B and I sat there watching them for a while and got Peyton up to see them too. Peyton was freaked out by them and kept telling us to "shut the door AND the windows!!" He was so worried that they'd get in the house. We went back inside and they finally climbed down the tree and over the fence back to the wetlands. They actually are pretty cute, until they start walking their creepy, hunched over walk. It was cool to watch, but kind of scary that they are out there. I'm pretty sure they'd really hurt our dogs, or even Peyton if they were out there.
