A New Year is here...

We didn't do anything for New Years Eve...Olivia and I were down for the count with colds.  I went to bed at 8:30pm and slept for a much-needed 11 hours.  New Years day we cleaned the house a bit and I made my first ever prime rib.  It turned out great! Here's to a better year for 2013!

My annual reflection..  Let's see how 2012 was.....

1. What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before? I can't think of anything!
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Last year's:
~Gain muscle mass back! FAIL.
~Plant an herb/vegetable garden. FAIL
~Get our yard in better shape. FAIL
~Develop a budget and stick to it. FAIL
~Take a weekend to get away with B. FAIL
Wow, that's discouraging.  2012 was a tough year for me transitioning from swing shift to day shift....from having lots of free time to having almost no free time. I'm still struggling with finding time to accomplish anything, but I know working this shift is a must for my family and I right now.
As for new resolutions? I'm keeping it simple.
~Reduce the stress in my life...try to not do and be everything.  I can only do my best and I need to be okay with that.
~Get in great running shape...I have to do this because we are running Hood to Coast in August!
That's it.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? I had a brain fart when I typed this yesterday. A few people did give birth! Jill had baby boy Tripp, Amy H had baby boy Watson, and Amy W had baby boy Whit! More boys this year.

4. Did anyone close to you die? No thank goodness.

5. What countries did you visit? None.

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? Making the most of my time.  Not worrying so much about a clean house, but spending more quality time with B and the kids.

7. What dates from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Nothing stands out in my mind.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Sadly, nothing.

9. What was your biggest failure? Not doing as many fun activities with the kids.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? No, thankfully aside from getting out of shape, I've been fairly healthy.

11. What was the best thing you bought? Our Volvo..I love that car.

12. Where did most of your money go? House mortgage, daycare/school tuition.

13. What did you get really excited about? Wickiup

14. What song will always remind you of 2012? 'Our God' by Chris Tomlin

15. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder? Sadder.

– thinner or fatter? Same, but out of shape

– richer or poorer? Richer, but with more expenses.

16. What do you wish you’d done more of? Running, weight lifting, date nights with B, gardening, being more organized.

17. What do you wish you’d done less of? Worry/stressing and try to be more than I'm capable of.

18. How did you spend Christmas? With both of our families.

19. What was your favorite TV program? Duck Dynasty

20. What were your favorite books of the year? Hunger Games trilogy and An Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff/Alex Tresniowski

21. What was your favorite music from this year?
The mix CDs Becky's husband Joe burned for me.

23. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? B threw me a b-day bash at my Dad's house with family, it was perfect. I turned 32.

24. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Having my mom here.

25. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012? Lots of leggings, lol.
26. What kept you sane? My kids, even though they were the source of my insanity at times.  I love those two. And B, he is my home base.

27. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012: Time is precious.
I had Peyton fill this out (With my help with spelling) to reflect on his 2012...it will be fun to look back and see how 2013 differed for him.  He is all about Ninjago and anything Ninja as you can see.
