6.5 year update

Peyton had his half birthday a couple of weeks ago.  He starts school on Tuesday and will be a first grader! Where did the time go??!  We went to back-to-school night last week and got to meet his new teacher Mrs. Hayes.  He is excited to start another school year and see all his friends.  I love that he will have the same kids in his class from now through 8th grade.  I bet he will make some lifelong friends in his time in grade school.

Some tidbits on Mr. P...
~He is still our busy, stubborn, opinionated boy.  We've learned that summer is tough.  He thrives on structure and when out of school, while in a laid-back environment, we tend to battle with him more.

~He is his mother's son.  B always tells me how much Peyton is JUST like me.  We are both stubborn, very loving/cuddly, silly, busy-bodied, with a side of OCD.  We need things done a certain way, and if not it drives us crazy.

~He has to be "in-the-know" at all times.  He likes to know what's planned for the day.  Every night after we pray and tuck him in, as I'm walking out of his room, he always stops me and asks me what the plan is for the next day...if I have to work and what's going on for the next day.  :)

~He loves being outside and active.  His faves are riding his green machine and his bike, shooting hoops with us, running, building forts and turning any stick he can find into a sword.

~He is really loving playing organized sports.  He just started fall CYO basketball at his school and soccer league in our town. I can't even explain how it makes me feel to see him love and thrive at basketball...it makes me feel like my heart is going to explode!  It's a lot of work doing two sports at once, but so far it's working.  Now, when Olivia starts playing sports that might be a different story...

~His favorite indoor activities include crafting, building legos, playing DS, helping me cook, coloring and watching one of his shows (his faves are Ningajo and Scooby Doo).

~He is doing great with reading.  He reads on his own in his room and reads to us every night.  He still loves us to read to him.

~He loves Wickup and going to the beach. He cried when we got home from both this summer.

~He loves being around family (just like his mama!).  He gets SO excited when we tell him about plans of getting together with family.

~He just lost a top front tooth which was tooth #4 in total.  He has two more that are loose.

~He is 50.5 inches tall and weighs 51 pounds. (up 1.5 inches and 4 pounds in 6 months!)

Happy half birthday to our handsome guy!!!
