My little baker

Yesterday was a yucky, rainy day and I thought it would be a perfect day to bake some cookies. We got all the ingredients into the bowl, I bent down to get a cookie sheet out of the oven drawer only to stand up to see that Peyton decided to add his entire cup of milk that he was drinking into the bowl. (Deep breath). He was only trying to help. :) So we dumped that bowl out and started over. The end result was delicious peanut butter/peanut M&M cookies!

He got to put the M&M's in.

He totally had the 80's bangs going on yesterday. It took me serious effort and tons of AquaNet to get this look in 6th grade! He had a serious case of bed head. :D

This week

This week Peyton hasn't been feeling too good. He woke up with a 102 degree fever Monday night and the fever was there off and on in between tylenol until yesterday. He also has a cold which seems to be getting a little better. We spent a lot of time inside which reminds me of winter and how hard it is to keep a toddler occupied indoors. Although he had a fever, he was pretty much his usual self, just a little more low key.

A couple shots of the dogs wrestling in their bed:

Today Peyton was feeling a lot better, so we walked to a park that's near our house. It was nice to have a bit cooler weather.

"Where's the tractor?"

His new thing is swinging on his tummy.

On our way home we stopped at Lake Shore Park which is just a grassy area with benches and a dock to Blue Lake. The dock was covered with these ducks! Peyton really got a kick out of this.
I thought they would run away but they immediately walked towards us looking for food.

They came so close.

He was quacking at them here.

Tossing the ducks all of his snacks. Note the goldfish cracker in the air.

Oaks Park

Yesterday we went to Oaks Park with Kate/Ethan and Amy/Hunter. On Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 0930-1130 they have a 6 and under ride time. Peyton loved it. He wanted me to go on some of the rides with him in the beginning but after that he had no fear. We made the mistake of going on the Tilt-O-Whirl first which was scary (I thought) for a toddler, and Hunter was done after that. Peyton did okay on that ride, he just said it made him dizzy. I personally felt nauseous after that one. His favorite ride by far was the airplanes. Him and Ethan went on the rides multiple times and both had a lot of fun. I'm hoping to go again before the preschool time ends on Sept 23rd! It was fun for me too, I used to go to Oaks Park when I was a kid all the time and it brought back good memories!

On the Tilt-O-Whirl

Ok this ride was crazier than I thought. Peyton had a death grip the whole time but didn't complain one bit. (Kate and Ethan in the pink car and us in the blue)

Planes...again.

Austin's swim party!

Yesterday Austin had all his friends come to a swim party at East Portland Community Center. They have a brand new pool and it's huge and really nice. All the kids had a blast. Happy 6th Birthday Austin!!!

Yummy ice cream cake.

After we were done and I was getting him changed, he told me he had to potty. He's never ventured into a public bathroom to potty, but he did great! It was apparent he held it the whole time swimming as he said "Potty a lot mama!" So he got a special treat ("muscle treat" as he calls it) from his party goody bag for the way home.

B-day parties!

Yesterday we headed to JJ Jump for Layton's 3rd birthday party. I used to work with Layton's mommy Tiffany at Good Sam. Peyton was so clingy when we first got there and didn't want to go on anything without me. But after he warmed up, he was all over the place!

Layton and his daddy Eric

He went down this slide about a million times.

Tiffany and Layton

We went home and attempted a nap after all the cake and ice cream and failed. We then headed over to my brother's house for Austin's 6th birthday party:

He's really into scooters and does really well on Austin's two-wheeler scooter.

He kept hugging this statue in their backyard and trying to take its hat off.

All the kiddos helping Austin blow the candles out!

Playing with Austin's Buzz

Uncle Randy showing Peyton how to work Austin's new remote control truck.

As soon as we hit the road he was out.
Now, as I listen to Peyton talk to himself in his room, I'm thinking he's going to have yet another no nap day before we head to Austin's friend/kid swimming party in an hour and a half. :)

All about I

I am frustrated with my knee, I just wanna run.

I think I need to be more optimistic.

I have an addiction to my Blackberry.

I wish there were more than 24 hrs in a day.

I hate clutter.

I miss being a care free kid.

I fear losing loved ones.

I hear my favorite song on the radio.

I smell nothing in particular.

I crave ice cream at night.

I search for ways to engage Peyton to the best of my ability.

I wonder if this new job will allow me to solely work at home.

I regret too much. I need to let things go.

I love my family.

I ache to get into really good shape again.

I am not perfect-far from it.

I believe in God.

I dance with Peyton to Michael Jackson ("Jatson mama!").

I sing in the car.

I cry when I think of anything happening to Peyton.

I fight with myself over and over again.

I win when I have a secret challenge with the person next to me on the tredmill at the gym. :)

I lose my mind more often now than in the past.

I never go to bed without brushing my teeth and washing my face.

I always end up forgiving.

I listen to country music the majority of the time, which is funny because until after college, I despised it.

I can multitask well.

I am scared of failing.

I need to organize our office at home.

I am happy that I have the opportunities that God has blessed me with.

I imagine being completely content one day.

I tag everyone.

This week...

This week the weather hasn't been the greatest but we've been working really hard on potty training and Peyton is doing so well. He's finally getting it, although he has parts of certain days where he simply refuses. I can feel that Fall is coming and I'm sad to see summer go, but I absolutely LOVE fall. I'm looking forward to cooler weather and all the fun things Fall brings!

Still loves his trains

Putting his friends down for a nap.

It makes my heart so happy when he plays basketball...

He found something.....

This HUGE spider. And he kept poking it with his finger. ICK, I can't stand spiders.
